Are you a fan of Shaquille O’Neal? If you are I don’t blame you. His prowess in the court, basketball court that is, cannot be questioned. He has been with several teams already throughout his time in the industry and he has won four NBA Championships. Three of these championships happened while he was with Los Angeles Lakers and one when he was with Miami Heat in 2006. Presently, Shaq is a part of the Phoenix Suns where he plays center.  Top win four Championships means Shaq must have a great judgment when he’s inside the court.

However, when it comes to choosing cars, I have some doubts regarding his judgment. A man as big as he, needs to ride in a big car, with lots of space to stretch his legs in, right? But look what kind of car he bought for himself. It’s a dainty, two-seater Smart Fortwo vehicle!

 

Surprised? I was surprised too. Just think, Shaq is 375 pounds and seven feet and one inch tall. How can he fit himself in this little car? Well, to give him credit he fits in. But I’m sure he needs to do some clever maneuvers before he can get himself seated inside. Once inside, his head stick out over the windshield so, it’s a good thing the model he opted for was a convertible. It really boggles the mind what Shaq was thinking of when he bought this Smart Fortwo. It couldn’t be for ease and comfort that’s for sure. All I can think is that he did it for the sake of being different and standing out on the road, do you agree?

 

The Smart Fortwo is a cute two-seater vehicle with its engine installed at the rear. This innovative design first came out in 1998 at the Paris Motor Show. Before it was named Smart Fortwo its label was City Coupe. The most recent version of this car is already an all-electronic version as unveiled at this year’s Paris Motor Show. This car is only 2.29 meters long with a rigid frame that secures the occupants. Its body can be equipped with interchangeable body panels for different exterior looks.

Wow, don’t you just wish you can get to ride one too? Maybe if you ask Seal kindly he’ll take you for a spin! Yeah, like in your dreams maybe. The Gold Bentley Azure is a big car, just right for a big man like Seal. By its appearance, the Azure is a luxurious vehicle with lots of space inside. I expect there’s lots of leg room in there where Heidi and kids can stretch your legs in. Getting the top up or down can be done in merely 30 seconds. With just a simple touch of a button the hydraulic, three-layer, insulated fabric top can be operated already.

 

For its specs, the Bentley Azure is equipped with 6.8-liter V8 engine.  This engine is capable of producing 450 horsepower and 645 ft-lbs of torque. The only drawback that experts see in this car is that it only gets 9mpg.

Have you watched some of Jamie Lee Curtis’s films? If you haven’t then you definitely should make time to watch some of them. I assure you, watching them will be worth it if you are after the entertainment. In fact this woman is already a two-time golden globe winner, a BAFTA winner and an Emmy nominee. Aside from being a great actress, Jamie Lee seems to be an auto buff as well with a heart for the environment. I said that because out of the various auto models out in the market today she chose to drive a Honda FCX Clarity. What makes this vehicle special? Simple. It is a hydrogen-powered car.

 

When Jamie Lee received this model on a lease back in August she was so excited over it. To quote her, “I really wasn’t expecting it to be so luxurious. It’s luxurious, luxurious, luxurious! I love the interior layout, design and access to controls. It is user-friendly and very modern.” With this statement made I guess there is no need to point out how much she loves her new Honda FCX Clarity.

 

Upon knowing this you might say that the Honda FCX Clarity is just another hydrogen car that will confuse people’s minds. It may be a hydrogen-powered car but always remember as well that these cars still have some individual uniqueness in them.  The FCX Clarity is Honda’s car of the future especially that it is capable of zero emissions and maximum driving experience. The FCX Clarity is a full-cabin sedan that bears an aggressive front end with a 6-sided grille. And the first thing you’ll notice and like about this car of the future is its Star Garnet Metallic color.  Most of the exterior is made up aluminum material which makes the car lighter and more efficient. Honda didn’t hold back in the interior design that is why Jamie Lee was awed by its sheer luxury. And Honda really takes the environment-friendly approach to a higher level by using Bio-Fabric material on the seats. Most of the interior is made of earth-tone colors that give it a cozy atmosphere. There’s even a Honda Satellite Linked Navigation System with voice recognition and rearview camera. 

 

Honda’s FCX Clarity runs on fuel cell or a mechanism that uses electricity produced by hydrogen-powered fuel cell stack. Giving supplemental power to the vehicle is the highly-efficient lithium-ion battery pack. Through this mechanism less harmful emissions is achieved.

 

Well, I’m sure the Honda FCX Clarity is a great car to drive. Too bad its expensive that only those who have lot of money to spare get to drive it, like Jamie Lee Curtis. Lucky you!

You probably heard of the news that Disney is planning a sequel to its much-celebrated movie “Cars” that was released in 2006. This movie was so much fun that it easily gained recognition all over the world enabling it to make its mark in the movie industry when Saturn Award chose it as the Best Animated Film, Best Music in an Animated Feature Production, and Best Animated Effects.  Yes, it was o popular that Disney decided to produce “Cars 2.”

 

Well, Cars 2’s release was initially slated for 2012, but then Disney changed its mind. Folks over there are very impatient I think that they changed the year to 2011. They are now making the release a year earlier than the original date. This was announced by Pixar’s chief creative officer during a Disney showcase. We still don’t know the new Cars film would run. So far, the only thing that its maker, John Lasseter, disclosed is that he found inspiration from the various cars he saw around the world when he made publicity tours for the first Cars film.  We hope that the final outcome will be as great and as much fun to watch the first film.

 

This Cars sequel sure is something to look forward to because it is going to be directed by Brad Lewis. If you enjoyed the animated movies Antz and Ratatouille then you will surely also enjoy Cars 2 since Brad Lewis was also the one who directed these animated movies. I’m wondering though as to who will be the voices of the adorable cars in Cars 2 when it comes out in 2011.  Do you have any guess as to who will be the people speaking as the Cars characters?

 

Anyway, 2011 is still a long way down the track so for the meantime Disney is keeping viewers entertained with a few goodies. John Lasseter publicized a new Cars franchise called Cars Toons, which is a series of animated shorts. This will be aired only on the Disney channel pretty soon. No exact date was given.  Anyways, even though 2011 is still far this news is an uplifting one, right?

Matt Damon is one of the most talented stars in Hollywood right now. Do you know that he won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for his Good Will Hunting work and he was nominated for his lead role in the film? He has so many movies under his name since he joined the movie industry that he was already given his very own star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame! Isn’t that amazing? Some of his popular movies are Saving Private Ryan; Ocean’s Eleven, The Bourne Identity, Oceans Twelve, The Bourne Supremacy, Oceans Thirteen, and the Bourne Ultimatum. You may not know it but Matt is also a philanthropist. He is involved in various charitable organizations.

 

Anyway aside from that he also has a great concern for the environment when he was seen driving a Tesla Roadster. A Tesla Roadster is an electric car that also promises to change the world of automobiles. This is based on the Lotus Elise. Anyway matt was seen one early morning driving one of these babies. When asked about the car he said that he was only having it for a test drive, but he also said that he’s very interested to get one. He was impressed by the car’s performance, to quote him, “The 30-60 acceleration is like nothing else.” 

 

Honestly, the Tesla Roadster really looks impressive. Its exterior is a true form of what a sports car should be. Its body is made up of resin transfer molded carbon fiber composite which makes the vehicle lighter without being fragile. This vehicle is equipped with Energy Storage System that is made up of thousands of lithium-ion cells. To keep track of the performance of this system, the Tesla Roadster is also equipped with the Vehicle Management System or VMS. The whole motor of this dynamic car is light yet it is capable of producing impressive horsepower. Then under its skin is the Power Electronics Module that regulates battery charging. Safety is also a prime consideration of Tesla in developing this vehicle thus this Roadster is installed with advanced ABS system and tough suspension. Due to the safety features that it has, it’s no wonder Matt Damon had to second thoughts about test driving it.

 

Well, Matt is one lucky guy that he gets to drive a performer like the Tesla Roadster. Maybe he has one of his own now in his garage?

Watching movies is one of my favorite pastimes, that is, if I have free time to spare. There’s nothing more relaxing than watching movies while just lounging in bed and eating my favorite chips with a cold drink. Chance like this is rare that is why I clearly remember the time when I got to enjoy a movie marathon. One of the movies I watched was “Gone in Sixty Seconds.” You have probably seen it before since it was filmed back in 2000. I don’t know why it is only now that I was able to watch it.

 

Anyway, I really enjoyed watching “Gone in Sixty Seconds” because it was full of action and great cars! It starred Nicholas Cage as Memphis Raines, (love his name in this movie by the way), Giovanni Ribisi as Kip Raines, Angelina Jolie as Sara “Sway” Wayland and a lot more.

 

Memphis Raines was a retired master car thief who has to go back to the world he left behind in order to save his younger brother. His brother, Kip, failed to meet his contract with a Russian syndicate to deliver sophisticated cars and because of that the syndicate wants him dead. Memphis talks with the head of the syndicate named Calitri. Now, according to Calitri the only way he could save his brother’s head is if he fulfills the order for 50 exotic cars in just a few hours time. Seems to be an impossible task but Memphis came through and was able to save his brother. The last car that he stole, which he had some difficulty with is a Shelby GT500 which he codenamed as Eleanor. In the movie this car was certainly worth stealing since it costs around $80,000.

 

Eleanor is a great-looking car. This was actually a ’67 Mustang that was modified to be a Shelby GT500. This car really underwent a lot of work to become just right for “Gone in Sixty Seconds.” Take a look at Eleanor’s features:

• Non-stock hood without an open hood scoop.
• Side exhaust pipes painted the color of the body.
• Aftermarket wheels and high-speed, low profile radial tires and rims.
• Fog lights are not in stock position.

After the movie was shown in cinemas in 2000, the car was put on display for a time at the Automobile Museum in Los Angeles California.

How does driving a BMW Hydrogen 7 make her an environmentalist? Well, this vehicle is the first luxury automobile that runs on hydrogen! Yup, you’re not mistaken. This car is that environment friendly. Jen is lucky because she got to drive one of these vehicles since it will only be manufactured in a limited number.

 

The BMW Hydrogen 7 is actually still undergoing testing. Its German manufacturer has 100 units placed as loan cars to well-known figures. Yup, maybe Jennifer Garner is one of them.  If the BMW Hydrogen 7 will be mass produced then maybe our problem with air pollution will be lessened since its emissions are not harmful. But, even though it will be mass produced only the rich will be able to afford it since is quite expensive compared to other cars.

 

But if ever, investing on a Hydrogen 7 is not a bad idea at all. The amount you spend on this car will be all worth it in the long run. Just imagine, it does not run purely on fuel so you can save a lot on your gas money. Water doesn’t cost much so you can really enjoy great savings. With just simple touch of a button you can easily switch between gasoline and hydrogen. When you load water, it is stored in a bi-layered tank that can hold as much as 30 gallons of water. Water is stored in this tank as liquid rather than compressed gas.

 

Wow, it’s really a wonder what technology can do. A hydrogen-powered vehicle is a very beneficial thing for everyone, especially for preserving the environment. Owning a car like the BM& Hydrogen 7 is definitely something to look forward to. Celebs like Jennifer Garner are lucky they got to drive this clean energy car.

Ariel Atom – This is a sports car that is manufactured in America and England. This is a really unusual-looking car because its chassis is exposed. It has no roof as well as windows. This is available in several engines including a supercharged Honda Civic Type-R K20 and a 2.0-liter, 300 hp GM Ecotec engine.

 

Tesla Roadster – Now, this roadster is a really grea sports car. Fully electric, it can efficiently travel 393 kilometers on a single charge of its lithium-ion battery pack. Just by looking at its exterior you’ll know that it is a great car to drive on highways.
