If you will dare to be different what kind of car would you drive? For me it would be a Jeep. This kind of vehicle is rare nowadays. On my part, I don’t see much of them on the road so, if I were to drive one, I’d surely be different. I want one just like the Jeep Wrangler used in the teen vampire movie “Twilight”. The Jeep Wrangler was used by Emmett Cullen, one of the guys in the Cullen family. In the “Twilight” movie, the Cullen family lives in the mountains so the Jeep Wrangler is a perfect vehicle for traveling in its ruggedness.

 

The 2008 Jeep Wrangler is a superb vehicle for off-road adventures. This vehicle comes in three trims – base X, Sahara, and Rubicon. The one used in the movie looked more like a Rubicon because of its red and black color composition. Compared to the previous models, today’s Rubicon and other Jeep Wranglers are made to have heavy-duty axles, extra-low gearing, and electronically locking front and rear differentials. They are also available in two body styles – short wheelbase two-door or the long-wheelbase four-door unlimited.

 

 

The 2008 Jeep Wrangler is small in size but, it has a convertible top to offer more freedom when driving through off-road terrains. Inside it are basic features like a CD player with an auxiliary audio jack. There are optional packages that can be availed if you want to add some more features to the vehicle.

 

All 2008 Jeep Wranglers are operated by means of a 3.8-liter V6 engine that is linked to a 6-speed manual transmission. An optional 4-speed automatic transmission is also available. This kind of engine produces 202 hp and 237 lb-ft of torque. This excellent road performance is matched by reliable safety features. All Wranglers have antilock brakes and stability control with rollover sensor. Front seat airbags are only optional and not standard. It was given five stars by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for frontal-impact protection.

 

In general, the 2008 Jeep Wrangler offers fun and freedom for off-road adventures. It’s stylishly rugged that you’ll stand out from the crowd if you drive one.

 

Maybe it’s due to its rugged quality that it was one of the most noticeable vehicles in the Twilight movie. You can really see its excellent performance as it rose up to the thrilling chase that happened among the characters in the movie.

Are you ready for the next car featured in the “Twilight”? Next stop is Edward Cullen’s Volvo S60R in silver splendor. There was this scene in the movie when Bella was walking home alone. Suddenly there were guys blocking her way. It was clear they had bad intentions. But before things got to worse, a car came screeching down the corner. It came to a grinding halt right before the bad guys. Clearly, they were startled, as was Bella. Edward unfolded his length from the driver’s seat. With barely leashed fury he came face to face with the bad guys. His anger was barely controlled and there was already something primitive about his stance as he snarled at them. The bad guys realized they are dealing something different so they immediately scampered. Bella and Edward got inside the car but before they drove off Edward threatened running over the guys which scared them off all the more.

 

 

That was a great scene. It was also a great car – Volvo S60R. This car is a very stylish one and is made with extensive safety engineering. It has sleek, fastback profile. The bumper is smoother and less angular than previous S60 models. Its impressive qualities are not merely skin-deep. Under the hood is a powerful 2.5-liter 5-cylinder engine that produces 300 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. It is matched with continuously variable valve timing for both the intake and exhaust camshafts. Twin intercoolers are also installed in the car to ease the load of the engine’s turbocharger. Other features include the all-wheel drive system, six-speed Geartronic transmission option in place of the former 5-speed unit. It also comes with Four C (Continuously Control Chassis Concept) active chassis system that compensates for road variances.  

 

Aside from excellent performance, the Volvo S60R is also quite comfortable. It has a Comfort mode and Sport mode that enables the vehicle to travel smoothly even over road bumps. There is more space in front than in the rear. Those who sit at the back will surely notice the limited leg room. The front seat must be pushed well forward to provide more space at the back.

 

The Volvo S60R driven by Edward Cullen in the movie is really a very stylish one that is why it was easily noticed. No doubt, if you drive one you will also get noticed on the road. Simply impressive that’s the right word for the Volvo S60R and the movie.

What’s the latest movie you’ve seen? Mine is “Twilight”. It’s an interesting teen vampire movie, though I must say it could use some more action. For those of you who haven’t watched “Twilight” it’s a story about Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. From Arizona, Bella moved to live with her father in the little town of Forks, Washington. There she met Edward Cullen, a mysterious and brooding guy. Initially, it seemed like Edward only showed antagonistic behavior towards her but, that was just a façade. Edward was actually attracted to her. However, it seemed like an unlikely romance because Edward is not like any ordinary guy in her school. He can run faster than the wind, can stop a car with his hands and he hasn’t grown old since 1918. Turns out, Edward and his family are vampires, though they don’t have fangs. There’s no doubt about Edward’s attraction to Bella, an attraction he tries to control because he might end up sucking her blood and turn her into a vampire as well.

 

Just when everything seemed to be going well, company arrived. Vampires from another clan arrived and when they noticed a mortal among the Cullens they tried to get her. That’s when the exciting chase began. The whole Cullen family tried to protect Bella from the blood-thirsty vampire James. In the end it was still Edward who was able to save her from James’ clutches.

 

For me “Twilight” is a feel-good vampire movie. And it’s one movie that features lots of cars. I will present all the cars that were in the movie, that’s if I can research about them all. First one is Bella’s red pickup truck. This car was given to Bella as a coming home gift from her Dad. Anyway, she really needed one to get her to school and back. The truck is a bit old there’s no doubt about it. In fact, according to my research it does not go over 55 mph! It’s really just an automobile for practical purposes and not for chasing bad guys around. There was one instance in the movie when Bella almost got run over by a van, good thing Edward was watching out for her and he stopped the van from hitting her. He dented her truck’s side though.

I love watching movies. It’s one of my favorite ways to pass the time, that is, when there’s nothing else to do. When I watch movies, sometimes I don’t get the title. And even if I do I usually forget. That’s how bad my memory is. So, when I read the title “The Italian Job” I thought I have not watched it before. Reading the synopsis, it finally all came back to me. This is one of the most exciting theft movies I’ve ever seen. It’s also one of the Mark Wahlberg movies I liked.

 

The story is about a group of guys, intent on stealing millions worth of gold! It’s not like a bank robbery because the bars of gold they planned to steal is not kept in a bank but in a palazzo in Venice, Italy. The bars of gold were kept in a tightly secured vault that cannot be easily broken. The idea was they will steal the vault and once they got away that’s the time they are going to open it. It was too bad that one of their team members betrayed them. His greed drove him to take everything for himself. The story doesn’t end there. Mark Wahlberg, as Charlie Croker, wanted payback. I think it was only a few months after that incident, he gathered his old team back together and they devised a plan on how they can get their revenge. Joining the team is Stella (Charlize Theron), a gorgeous woman who happens to be an expert safecracker. The plan was made and put into action. As with all theft-themed movies, there were exciting chases on water and on land. When the guys finally got the vault from the betrayer they got in an exciting car chase.

 

They placed the vault in a specialized compartment of a MINI Cooper. This car looked just right for the chase because its size allows it to weave smoothly in and out of traffic; aided of course by the smart maneuvers of the guy behind the wheel. There were three MINIs featues in the movie – a red, blue, and white. The MINI Cooper was featured a lot in the movie that Paramount Pictures set for 300 Cooper to be present during the screening at its Hollywood studios. With 300 units of Coopers swarming all around you can imagine it’s like a reunion of all MINI Coopers. There were even some that came from New York and Hawaii! It seemed like crazy out there that day with so many MINI Coopers buzzing around.

WAG…Do you know that this is an acronym? Those who do not watch football and do not read celebrity news probably don’t know that there is such an acronym. I will not leave you wondering what WAG really means. WAG simply means Wives And Girlfriends of professional soccer players. The Britich tabloid used this term in their writing when referring to English football players’ significant someone. You know some WAGs out there today. One of the most popular and is considered the Queen of WAGs is none other than former-spice girl Victoria Beckham. Then, also making waves is Alex Curran, wife of Liverpool and England footballer Steven Gerrard. Alex is called the “uber-WAG.”

 

But aside from being a WAG, Alex is also an entrepreneur. She takes particular interest in perfumes. In fact she just launched her own perfume “Alex” last year, October 29, 2007. Her business must be doing pretty well as she’s able to buy a £50,000 brand new BMW X6. Maybe it’s a present from hubby? Nah, I think she merely splurged on herself.  She was spotted driving her brand new white BMW X6 when she went shopping in Liverpool a few days ago.

 

What attracted Alex to this car? Well, the BMW X6 is a big car. It is a “Sports Activity Coupe” built by BMW at its plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina. This was officially unveiled at the 2008 Detroit International Auto Show. For a big car, the BMW X6 seats only 4 people. In terms of exterior design, some people might find it wanting; but not Alex Curran. She seems to like the classically sloping roof line and profile. Though the exterior is not that perfect, the quality of its performance more than make up for it.

 

The BMW X6 comes in two trims – the xDrive35i and xDrive50i. The first one boasts a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine that produces 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. It also comes with luxurious upholstery, power front seats, and top-notch audio system. The xDrive50i on the other hand runs on a 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 engine that generates 400 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. Both trims are all-wheel drives and functions using a 6-speed automatic transmission with shift control. 

 

The features of the new BMW X6 are definitely impressive. Alex Curran knows quality when she sees one. She certainly picked a winner in the BMW X6 that she drives now.

Do you watch “The Hills?” If you do, you know that it is an artificial reality TV series. It’s actually a follow-up to MTV’s famous show Laguna Beach. And not all of the news about them is good news. This couple, Heidi and Spencer most especially are always stirring things up, making up issues just to be noticed. Right now, they are the most hated couple in the TV industry. Last year it was reported previously that these two were going to get married but then Heidi broke it off so Spencer had to woe her again. They went on a vacation in Mexico where Spencer spent time wooing her, with the press snapping pictures of them all the time. As I’ve said they love to be in the press all the time.

 

The latest with this horrible couple is they bought a $400,000 Rolls Royce Phantom! Just look at that amount! They must have lots of money to spare or maybe they pooled their resources so that they can put one up Lauren Conrad who recently bought a 2009 Audi R8 for $118,000. You must know that Lauren Conrad (LC) and Heidi were in a feud for some time and it was only a few nights ago that the reunited. Apparently Heidi went to the STK restaurant where a party was held after Lauren’s launch of her fashion line and there Heidi went up to Lauren and congratulated her. Don’t know if the reunion is genuine, could be Heidi’s way of getting back into the good books.

 

What irks is the fact that this couple own one of the most coveted cars in the planet! Imagine a Rolls Royce Phantom. The only other celebrity I’ve seen driving this car is David Beckham. While David’s is black, theirs is white with lavish white trimmings in the interior. Spencer seems to be so proud of their new acquisition that he wants to invite the paparazzi to check out the car’s interior. Hope you don’t get bankrupt with your acquisition.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of my favorite actors of all time. I liked him because of his versatility as an actor. I mean he can be a real tough guy, as he was in the movies like Terminator 1, 2, and 3, Collateral Damage, End of Days, and a lot more. Then, from being a tough guy he goes on to be a big softie in The Kindergarten Cop. He can be really funny when he wants to just like in the movie “Junior.” He has a certain accent that sometimes makes his manner of speaking hard to understand. I guess that’s due to being born and bred in Austria.  Lately though he’s not been making movies because being Governor of California takes up most of his time. I’m not sure if there’s a law in the United States that prohibits politicians from making movies while they are in the position. 

 

Well, the Governor seems to be enjoying his position quite well…behind the wheel of a brand new Dodge Challenger SRT8. Guv was photographed driving the orange sports car, with cigar hanging in his mouth. He looks so at home in this fast car. Do you think it’s alright for a Governor to be seen in a sporty Dodge? Well, he seems to carry it off ok.

 

I think the Dodge Challenger he was driving is a 2008 model. It certainly looks like a muscled car inside and out. This model packs 425-horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque in its 6.1-liter SRT HEMI V8 engine. When you look inside the hood you’ll even be more awed by the superbly engineered camshaft, cylinder heads, and intake and exhaust systems. All of these parts help generate that superb engine speed. Control is provided by the 5-speed automatic transmission made with AutoStick. This kind of transmission allows better performance in terms of shift quality and torque management. This rear-wheel-drive vehicle ensures firm grip on the ground, thanks to the Sure Grip Differential installed.

We’re so envious. Not of her boyfriend but of her ice silver 2009 Audi R8! Celebrities who are as passionate about cars as we are also love to be part of the action. For our inaugural Las Vegas event, several vehicles that are currently of previously owned by some of the biggest names in the world will run over the block.”

 

For this inaugural event in Las Vegas some of the stars who will be joining with their cars are Toby Keith, Evel Knievel, Nicholas Cage and Bette Davis. Bette Davis’ car, a 1980 Ford Mustang will be displayed in Lot #460. It seems that Bette Davis love this car as it was even given the nickname “Black Beauty.” For seven years, this car has been on display at the Petersen Automotive museum in Los Angeles. Sales receipts, correspondence, owner I.D. cards, and original license plates are included in the display.  

 

Nicolas Cage’s Porsche 911 Carrera Speedster on the other hand will be on Lot#782. His car is only one of the 802 special production models developed. This features a 3.2-liter engine, 5-speed manual transmission and 1,200 miles.

 

Toby Keith is also selling his 1934 Ford at the event. The custom Ford two-door cabriolet will be showcased in Lot#820. This car features “Brilliant Red” paint, tan cabriolet convertible top and a interior of the same color. A V8 engine powers up the said vehicle.

 

Another celebrity selling his car at the said event is Funkmaster Flex. He will be selling his 2006 Ford Mustang GT. This is one great car because it is filled with modifications. This was even shown on TV in “Car Wars with Funkmaster Flex”. It looks like Funkmaster Flex has a charitable nature because the profit from this Mustang will be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
